Wella, a Swiss native, moved to the U.S. at age 18, where she joined the U.S. Army working as a paratrooper and Medical Logistician. She deployed to Afghanistan in 2013 as a Cultural Support Team Member (CST), an experience that profoundly impacted her and highlighted the unique capabilities of women and the need for gender balance across all career fields. She began her aviation journey in 2020 after being awarded a scholarship by the Airmen's Association.
In 2024, Wella co-founded "Sky Sisters of Alaska" to support and empower Alaskan women across all areas of aviation life through scholarships and educational support. In addition to working for the Airmen's Association, Wella sits on the NextGen board and is a freelance flight instructor currently finishing her Master's in Environmental Science. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the backcountry, solving puzzles, and spreading her love for crunchy sourdough bread through small baking classes.
