KEEP YOUR CHARTS CURRENT
Aeronautical information changes rapidly, so it is important that pilots check the effective dates on each aeronautical chart and publication. To avoid danger, it is important to always use current editions and discard obsolete charts and publications.
To confirm that a chart or publication is current, refer to the next scheduled effective date printed on the cover. Pilots should also check NOTAMs for important updates between chart and publication cycles that are essential for safe flight
Aeronautical Chart Users' Guide
This Chart Users' Guide is an introduction to the Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) aeronautical charts and publications. It is useful to new pilots as a learning aid, and to experienced pilots as a quick reference guide.
The FAA is the source for all data and information utilized in the publishing of aeronautical charts through authorized publishers for each stage of Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and Instrument Flight Rules (IFR) air navigation including training, planning, and departures, enroute (for low and high altitudes), approaches, and taxiing charts.

VFR Charts
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) digital-Visual Chart series is designed to meet the needs of users who require georeferenced raster images of FAA Visual Flight Rules (VFR) charts. An Aeronautical Raster Chart is a digital image of an FAA VFR Chart. All information that is part of the paper chart is included in the file. The area inside the neat line is georeferenced to the surface of the earth. Only the main body of the chart is accurately georeferenced.

IFR Enroute Charts
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) IFR Enroute Aeronautical Chart series is designed to meet the needs of users who require a digital version chart. The product is provided as a Portable Document Format (pdf), and available for viewing from this website. The pdf formatted charts are created from their respective native chart files. All information that is part of the paper IFR Enroute aeronautical chart is included in the pdf image.

Digital - Terminal Procedures Publication (d-TPP)/Airport Diagrams
The d-TPP is a presentation of the same data in the TPPs but as individual PDF files. The TPP is a 24-volume set of printed paper books covering the conterminous US, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands plus a volume covering Alaska, the Alaska Terminal Publication (ATP). The Pacific TPPs are included in the Chart Supplement Pacific. The TPPs contain Instrument Approach Procedure charts (IAP), Departure Procedure charts (DP), Standard Terminal Arrival charts (STAR), CVFP and Airport Diagrams (AD). Also included are Takeoff, Radar, and Alternate Minima textual procedures. The minima textual data are presented as multi-page PDFs covering the minimum sections of each of the printed TPP volumes. Legend and general information pages printed in the TPP books are also presented here as multi-page PDF files.

Chart Supplement Alaska
This is a civil/military flight information publication issued by the FAA every 56 days. This single volume book is designed for use with appropriate IFR or VFR charts. The Chart Supplement Alaska contains data including, but not limited to, airports, NAVAIDs, communications data, weather data sources, special notices, non-regulatory operational procedures, and airport diagrams. The publication also includes uniquely geographical operational requirements such as area notices and emergency procedures.
