2018 Alaska Airmen Photo Contest
Photo Submission Instructions & Information
Entry period is now open!
If you want to be considered for the calendar cover photo, you must submit eligible photo(s) before Wednesday, December 6 at 11:59 pm AKST.
All photos for the entire calendar must be submitted before Wednesday, December 13 at 11:59 pm AKST.
General Rules & Limitations
No more than 4 photos in total per person will be accepted.
Alaska Airmen members: no fee
Non-members: $10 per photo
All aviation related photos are acceptable (including helicopter, drone and airplane shots). Pictures of general aviation aircraft in them are preferred. However, pictures of drones, commercial aircraft, etc. will be considered.
Photos must be taken in Alaska. All photos are preferred to be taken in the last year, but not required. Previous calendar winning photos are not eligible to be submitted.
No watermarks or copyright on photos.
Winning photos will be aligned with season most accurately represented in photo.
No more than 1 photo per individual will be selected per calendar year. An entrant at most can have a winning photo in 2018 and a winning photo in 2019.
Each photo must have:
-Name of photographer
-Aircraft owner (if applicable)
-Aircraft type (optional)
-Photographer contact URL – pick one – Facebook/Instagram/Website (optional)
Note: For online submissions, please include these details in either a text or word document uploaded with the photographs.

You may mail or drop off a thumb drive/disc accompanied by the printable PDF form above to 4200 Floatplane Drive, Anchorage, AK 99502. Upload largest resolution image(s).

Photograph Selection Process
Alaska Airmen membership will vote for the cover photo at the Anchorage holiday party on December 7th and the Fairbanks holiday potluck on December 8th. Cover photo winner will be announced on Monday, December 11.
Final voting round for the internal portion of the calendar will be conducted by
the youth outreach program, NextGen Aviators Group.
Winning photos will be decided by the Alaska Airmen Photo Committee.
One cover photo will be selected and featured on calendar.
24 calendar month photos will be selected and featured in the calendar.
3 bonus winners may or may not be selected for the calendar. The 3 bonus calendar photos will be selected by committee.
All winning photos will be selected by the Alaska Airmen Photo Committee.
The 3 bonus categories are:
1. Most creative aviation photo - $100 prize
2. Best aerial aviation photo - $100 prize
3. Best northern lights aviation photo - $100 prize
