What is Rent-a-Cabin?
The Alaska Airmen's Association is very excited to give back to the community! One way in which we are able to do that is through our NEW Quarterly Non-Profit Rent-a-Cabin Giveaway! This program allows non-profits a chance to use our beautiful Lake Hood facilities for a board meeting, retreat, fundraiser, ceremony, or event. Selected non-profit organizations can use the venue free of charge up to once per calendar year* with the exception of a small booking fee and any add-ons if desired.**
How Does it Work & Whose Eligible?
There is one application for each quarter of the year. Applications will be accepted for one month prior to the start of the new quarter. After the application deadline has past, one non-profit organization (NPO) will be randomly selected and will be rewarded one free building rental for official non-profit usage (no private events). The NPO will have 30 days after notice of selection to accept and pay the $50 one-time booking fee. Awarded NPO must use their rental within the quarter their application is for and no extensions beyond applied quarter will be granted.
Any registered Alaskan non-profit organization is eligible to apply for the Rent-a-Cabin giveaway! A non-profit organization may submit an application to all four quarters but may only be selected once per calendar year.
Building & Rental Information
Our building and reception area can host up to 125 guests. It has a cozy, warm atmosphere, wood finish interior, a large corner rock fireplace, heated vinyl flooring, and large open windows to gaze out over Lake Hood. We feature a full kitchen facility, an outdoor deck right on the lake with a beautiful 500 ft surrounding dock.
The Airmen building is conveniently located on Lake Hood approximately eight minutes from downtown & midtown, and two minutes from the airport; just off West Northern Lights and Lake Hood Drive.
Fees include use of the Airmen building for up to an eight-hour time slot, use of our tables, chairs, full kitchen, outdoor deck and dock, inside and outside stereo system, 90” drop down screen with ceiling projector, and free WiFi. No alcohol permit is needed unless alcohol is being sold.
* Maximum of one event a calendar year per NPO. Selection of an NPO cannot be guaranteed.
** A $50 booking fee to secure your reservation is required. All add-ons and post-event fees, if applicable, will be charged to the card on file.

*Rentals that fall on a holiday will have special rates and will be granted on a case by case basis.
